Cutting-edge manufacturing technology on display in Imperial Industries’ expanded new facility

As Imperial Industries nears completion of its newest building – a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that makes for a total of 200,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space on our 34 acres – we’re deploying a variety of technologies from the leading edge of industrial technology.

One such application – our high-performance industrial WiFi system to enable our connected “Internet of Things” smart manufacturing technology – was detailed in a case study shared by a partner who helped implement the system.

This technology will have a profound impact on our manufacturing operations, helping Imperial save time, operate more securely, collect and use meaningful manufacturing data, and more. All of these improvements will lead to increased innovation and even higher-quality products, but the technology will help our customers in more direct ways, as well. From the case study:

On the sales side, Imperial is also replacing paper with mobile and digital self-service options.

“Our sales force is excited about having real-time access to customer records, quoting capabilities and financing options from anywhere,” says [chief information officer at Imperial, Ann] Babl. “Previously, sales team members only had access at their desktops.”

In addition, Imperial can now roll out an e-Commerce platform for products in its commercial division. “Both customers and our staff will connect to the platform wirelessly,” Babl says.

In addition to the high-powered WiFi system, our new facility includes other state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, such as an improved blast, prep and paint area that will allow us to paint as quickly as 8 hours after blast; a new burn table; saw and break press; and more.
